NACE MARKETING

Tasks Accomplished

  • Created icons for marketing posters
  • Chose an appropriate typeface for the posters
  • Assisted in color palette redesign

During my time with the Campus Activities Board, I was assigned to work with Alysse Baer to create posters for the Student Involvement Organization. After receiving a prompt and a list of data and facts about student involvement, we split duties on what needs to be completed. Alysse took control of the layout and the initial color scheme. I was in charge of finding a friendly, readable typeface and creating a series of icons to go with each topic. Originally the posters were
made to be in a blue and orange color chosen by Alysse, as they were the branding colors of the Student Involvement Organization. However, after our submission, they requested different colors for each poster. The recoloring was done by both of us.

TYPEFACE

For the typeface, we chose to use Quicksand, a sans serif with rounded strokes. We wanted an easy, relaxing typeface to make the information less stressful for the students, while at the same time staying professional.

ICONS

For each poster, I made a set of icons relating to each topic. I wanted to make sure we had common, easy-to-read icons that can translate well among students. From a common iPhone for technology to a series of hands joining for community. Even combining some to send a bigger message, like combing a gear with an upward arrow to show how one can improve workflow and skills.
